Emergency Response Team (ERT) Seeking Additional Members

The Sunday Security Team (SST) - a subgroup of our UUSG ERT - is looking to expand volunteers.

The purpose of the SST is to ensure UUSG Congregants (primarily) and our facility (secondary) are safe from acts of violence, disruption and/or general harm. Should an incident occur, this sub-group shall react/respond to help minimize damage to life and property.

With sufficient volunteers, an on-duty assignment would be no more than 1 Sunday per month as part of a 3 person shift. ERT will provide training and necessary equipment and supplies so we can be as effective as possible. The goal is to be fully operational for opening Homecoming Sunday, September 8th. We shall thusly have our meetings and training sessions in July and August, including a trial run.

The SST serves an invaluable purpose to help prevent and mitigate a serious situation, and be ready to respond in an unplanned circumstance. This role is not for everyone, yet our best cannot be achieved without committed, trained members. Please consider joining the SST.
