Membership

Membership

Welcome to UUSG! We are so glad that you’ve joined us. Many newcomers will attend our Sunday Services and other UUSG events for a few months and then decide to attend our Membership Classes, which we offer a few times throughout the year. Others decide that they would like to wait a bit longer before joining, others are ready right away! There are many pathways to membership and we are here to help you find the best one that fits for you and/or your family. If you have questions about membership or general inquiries, please reach out to our Congregational Administrator, Christine Imielski, at office@uusg.org and she will be happy to assist you.

Pathways to Membership Series - Spring 2025

Are you interested in exploring Unitarian Universalism and getting to know others in our church community? Our Pathways to Membership series will be offered again soon. The series consists of two classes: a brief orientation, and a two-hour exploring membership class that are held on separate Sundays.

Membership: Getting Started - Sunday, March 30, 11:30am - 12pm
This first of two classes begins at 11:30am in the sanctuary and typically lasts 20 to 30 minutes. You'll get to know other newcomers and receive a folder full of helpful information that includes a little homework (very little), in advance of the Exploring Membership Class that happens the next Sunday. There's an optional tour of the building at the end of class

Exploring Membership Class - Sunday, April 6, 11:30am – 1:30pm
The two-hour Exploring Membership class also begins in the sanctuary at 11:30am. There's time to ask Rev. Scot questions based on the 12-minute YouTube video that's in the homework. You'll also get to contemplate your spiritual history and hear from several church leaders. We provide lunch and childcare. If requesting childcare, please let us know a week in advance so that we can make arrangements.

You can sign up for classes online here at uusg.org/explore or by talking to one of the greeters wearing a blue nametag.

Transferring Membership?
For those transferring membership from another UU church: an ideal time to sign our membership book, fill out a new member profile, and have your picture taken for our church directory would be immediately after church on April 6. With your permission we will include your picture in our monthly newsletter, The Pioneer, where we introduce you to the congregation, (unless you prefer to submit a separate digital picture or prefer no picture). Notify Cindy Duckworth, our Welcoming Team leader, or Christine Imelski, our church administrator, to make the necessary arrangements. You will be invited to participate in our annual new member recognition in May.
